About the library

A structured exploration space for understanding work.

The Careers Library is My DISHA's structured exploration space for understanding work across industries, regions and career stages. It organizes career information into navigable profiles so students and job seekers can move beyond job titles, investigate real responsibilities and identify useful next steps.

Explore careers

Explore a broad inventory of 5,000+ sourced career records. Search by occupation, industry, skill, work activity or career cluster, and narrow results while preserving related and alternative roles. The library is designed for exploration — not to promise employment, salary or personal suitability.

Understand each role

Career profiles explain the role in plain language: typical tasks, common work settings, tools and technologies, knowledge areas, skills, preparation routes, possible entry points and adjacent occupations. Where reliable data exists, profiles also show demand, compensation, qualification requirements and outlook.

Sourced information

Career information varies by country, employer, sector and seniority. Each factual data point shows its source, geography, observation date and limitations where available. Verified source data is distinguished from editorial explanations and AI-assisted summaries. Confirm regulated, admission and hiring requirements with the relevant authority or employer.

For students

Students can connect interests, subjects and learning experiences to a wider range of occupations. The library supports classroom exploration, counselling, project selection and family discussions — with no deterministic labels: interests and capabilities develop through experience.

For job seekers and career changers

Explore adjacent occupations, transferable capabilities and alternative entry routes. Investigate unfamiliar role expectations and identify skills or credentials to build. A keyword match alone is never treated as proof of competence.

Responsible exploration

Profiles describe occupational patterns, not an individual's destiny. Data may be incomplete or location-specific. There is no protected-trait inference and no high-impact automated decisions — uncertainty, source coverage and update dates are kept visible.

From discovery to action

Save roles to a shortlist, compare careers, explore a day in the life, review the market outlook or use the Scenario Simulator. Selected careers connect to your dated career plan and readiness activities — every button below is a live My DISHA workflow.

Coverage note: 5,000+ records is a broad inventory, not an exhaustive one. Search supports spelling variations and synonyms where verified; unrelated or unverified profiles are never presented as validated records.
