Why it matters.

Plans fail on schedule only in textbooks. A live second plan with defined triggers turns a crisis into a decision you already made calmly.

What success looks like.

  • Two live plans for one important goal.
  • Trigger points defined: what observation causes the switch.
  • One trigger drill — the switch decision rehearsed on paper.

The component skills.

Risk spottingTrigger pointsMaintaining two plans

Typical mistakes.

  • — A Plan B that's just the Plan A wish restated.
  • — Triggers so vague they never fire.
  • — Letting Plan B quietly expire — plans need maintenance.

Practise — activities that produce artifacts.

The two-plan canvas ~40 min

For one goal that matters, write both plans on one page: what each requires, what each costs, and what would have to be true for each to work.

Artifact: The two-plan canvas

Define the trigger points ~20 min

For each plan, write the observable trigger that would start the switch (a date, a number, a yes/no event). Vague triggers never fire — make them testable.

Missions — do it for real.

Mentors for this capability.

Matched from real, opted-in DISHA members through the Mentor Intelligence Network — with their trust states shown as stored. Source-listed is not the same as verified.

No opted-in mentors match this capability yet — none are invented. See the Mentors view or the full directory.

How assessment works.

Every submission gets a transparent first-pass against the mission's rubric — what was looked for and what was observed. Verified state requires a real review; the system never upgrades self-reported evidence on its own.

composure

Notes on pressure moments and what reset you used

accuracy

Concrete numbers, units and exact values instead of vague amounts

completeness

All parts of the task covered — nothing skipped or assumed away

preparation

Preparation before action: rates checked, plans made, materials ready

follow_through

What happened afterwards — the result and what changed

self_awareness

Honest signals: what you noticed, what was hard, what you'd change

Accepted evidence: mission_submission, mentor_review, observed_application, work_sample.

Stated plainly — what this doesn't do

  • — Submissions are private, self-reported evidence — they never become verified without a real review.
  • — Mentor review for capabilities arrives in a later phase of this module.
